• Congratulations to Patrick Reinhart of the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education! He won the national Earl Walden Award for Outstanding Achievement in Rural Advocacy. • CMS Review: The week of June 6, 2011, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) completed a focused on-site review to assess Alaska's progress in implementation of the Medicaid waiver Corrective Action Plan (CAP).  CMS concluded that Alaska has met all the requirements related to the development and implementation of the CAP.

• SDS met a major benchmark, set with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS): staff completed past-due Medicaid waiver participant re-assessments by Oct. 15. Medicaid waiver programs are still accepting new applicants. Please follow this link for more information.
